Scoring

Scoring Overview

Scoring at Capital City Clash GT will focus on three elements of play in order to determine who goes home with the prizes. Every player will be scored on their ability to play the game, play a fun game, and to paint their army. Players can score a total of 255 points from:

Battle Points

120

Army Appearance

60

Sportsmanship

Bonus Points

Battle Points (120pts)

The missions will be objective based, and scored in a graduated win/draw/loss format adjusted for kill points. By graduated, although it is w/d/l there will be a difference in a major win versus a minor win. For example, in a pillage-themed mission, winning 4-1 on objectives would achieve a greater win, and more battle points than winning 3-2.

Some rounds will have additional objectives which may award bonus points after the other scoring calculations are completed, but round scores are capped at 20.

Army Appearance Points (60pts)

The appearance award is just that, it is the overall appearance of your army. Technical painting skill is a significant part of that, but conversions, theme, basing and overall presentation are also taken into account. More information on painting rubrics and scoring will be forthcoming.

Sportsmanship Points (60pts)

Everyone will begin the event with 34 points for sportsmanship as their base point total. As a part of your player packet you will have a scoring sheet you will turn in at the completion of the 6th round which you will use to award your best game and 2nd best game awards, along with any bad game votes. These will add to or subtract from your sports scores as follows:

Best Votes

Please note that these scores are not cumulative, only the highest value is awarded. Anyone receiving a "2nd best game vote" will cumulatively receive 1 point for each such vote. Bad game votes also deduct from a player's score in the following scale:

Bad Votes

-34

Please note that like best game votes, these are not cumulative, only the highest modifier is applied to your score. Also, please take note that if you choose to bad game vote someone you may be asked to explain that vote, and bad game votes are at the discretion of the TO to accept. If there is a legitimate reason for the vote, by all means use it, but the tournament will not accept any gamesmanship related to bad game votes.
